Urbanus Exhibition Report

“Urbanus” installation with works contributed by a large number of Open Bite Printmakers members, shown at Art Space on the Concourse, Chatswood NSW, 6-17/12/2023.

Comments from our Exhibition Committee:

The hang took a day and a half as the large installation is very precise and
time-consuming work. Thank you so much to all the wonderful people who gave
up their time to help with the hanging. Without Mike, Peter, Annarie, Terese
and Deidre it would have been an enormous task. I admit, it did provide a
lot of laughs during the day! Physical and emotional support make a cohesive
OBP group.
Roz Kean opened the show, and gave a wonderful, well researched and
inspiring speech. She introduced the idea of involving a couple of artists
from the large collaborative work, to discuss their work. Annarie, Terese
and Liz rose to the occasion and talked eloquently about how their work grew
from the emotions and difficulties many of us faced during the Covid 19
lockdown. It was interesting to hear these insights, not just for the
visitors but for fellow artists too, who rarely get to find out the
motivational directions of another artist's work.

View of the “Urbanus” exhibition, featuring the major installation, framed prints on the walls, 3-D print-based artworks on plinths and the cradle for unframed prints.
