JULIE DEBRAY
My inspiration as a printmaker comes from the landscape, particularly the Australian bush. My current preferred medium is aquatint etching with rollovers which allows for additional colour to be added to the image if required. This is very process driven and I love to anticipate the end product after many hours of working on the layers of tone.
My other areas of interest are solar plate etching as it is a non-toxic form of printmaking and has a myriad of opportunities and collagraphs which for me, usually seem to be a more abstract form of artistic expression.
